Recently Dr. R. Ford sent out an announcement of sorts, of wanting the whole world to go gluten-free. Which is jumping on MY mission in life. I suppose I can allow it, reaching the goal is the point, but not who get’s credit. Having a full-fledged MD who knows that gluten intolerance, Celiac, gluten sensitivity is real and not a ‘fad’, a doctor who acknowledges the relation to wheat ingestion and most maladies is invaluable. 1
I thought on what if we could actually educate everyone, doctors, mother in-laws, teachers, dietitians, girl scouts, all people, of gluten intolerance, how would things change?
What if?
Celiac/Gluten intolerance would disappear. No more wheat, no more problem
Wheat allergies would disappear. And many other food allergies.
Diagnosis and surgery for Gall Bladder removal would fall drastically.
Diabetes would be nearly obsolete
Autism would be 1 in thousands again, instead of 1 in 100
Acne would not be an issue.
IBS would not exist
Lymphoma Cancers would drop drastically
Metabolisms would stabilize
Migraines would dissipate
Rhumatoid Arthritis would not destroy
Psoriasis would not be
Lupus, no more
Bipolar Disorder and schizophrenia would not affect so many.
Alzheimer’s would not steal so many minds
Depression would not need medication
Stomach viruses would not be as distressful
Ulcers unusual and easy to treat.
Poop would sink and farts don’t stink
Bleeding disorders would evaporate
Birth defects from vitamin deficiency, ended.
Vitamin K shots for newborns, a thing of the past.
Pernicious anemia forgotten
Infertility, isolated
So very much would be CURED if we just stopped eating wheat. REALLY.
Who would ‘lose’ if wheat was removed?
Hospitals: They would lose revenue on tests, surgeries, blood transfusions.
M.D’s: They would lose revenue on repeated office visits, surgery fees.
Pharmaceuticals would take a real hit; No more Prilosec, Zantac, Pepcid Tums, for your stomach. antidepressants and medication for mental illness’s would not be handed out like candy.
Mortician’s
What if we quit ingesting wheat? What would the world look like?
Farmers would plant corn, rice, casava (tapioca)
Bakeries would all make gluten-free baked goods.
Nothing would say ‘Gluten Free’ because it would all be Gluten Free.
Gluten Free products would be ‘normal’ cost, because everything would be made this way.
Little Debbie cakes would be gluten-free.
Restaurants would have one menu and everything gluten-free
All beer would be gluten-free, and good.
Burgers WITH buns, at McDonald’s, Burger King, Texas Burger, White Castle
No more wheat coated french fries
After dinner mints would not be TUMS
What if? What do you think?
we think about that all the time!
I am SO happy to be gluten free… I bought so many copies of Wheat Belly when I was home in the States in January that the bookstore ran out 🙂 It is AMAZING how much better you feel when you stop eating wheat!
